In China, about 37 million people have been infected with Kovid-19 every day in a week.

A recent meeting of China's National Health Commission estimated that 248 million people, or 18 percent of China's population, were likely exposed to Covid-19 during the first 20 days of December, Bloomberg reported.

More infectious variants of the coronavirus had started spreading very quickly since China abolished the zero Covid policy.

According to estimates by the National Health Commission, 50 percent of the population of the capital Beijing and Sichuan Province have been infected with Kovid.

It is unclear how the National Health Commission made this estimate because testing is no longer being done in China as before.

There has been no response from the National Health Commission on the report so far.

Similarly, the number of asymptomatic cases of Covid-19 is no longer being reported by China.

Covid deaths were not discussed in the meeting.

According to the meeting, the number of cases in Beijing is now decreasing, but the virus is spreading to other areas and all regions should be prepared in this regard.

Earlier on December 22, British health research firm Airfinity said in a report that the current wave of Corona is likely to cause 5,000 deaths per day in China.

The British research firm said that the data collected by it is in sharp contrast to china's official figures.

Officially, 1,800 ca
ses and only seven deaths were reported last week.

It should be noted that in the past, experts of the World Health
Organization and several important scientists had said that due to the devastating wave of Kovid-19 in China, it is not possible to end the status of global emergency soon.

Experts have also expressed concern that the sudden change in the zero Covid policy could result in more than one million deaths in China in 2023 as a result of the disease.
